Bethel College

Bethel College seeks to hire a highly qualified person at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor, with the possibility of serving as Chair, beginning in August, 2018.

The successful candidate will teach and develop coursework in Sports Management and advise students in Sport Management or Sport Studies majors.  In addition, the candidate will be expected to supervise field-based internships, serve on committees, engage in professional service, and scholarly activities. 

Ideal candidates will demonstrate teaching excellence, interest in strong interaction with students, possess an interest in cooperative programs in Christian Liberal Arts settings and indicate ways they will support the College's commitment to diversity. 

This person will also be able to articulate a vision for a Kinesiology program appropriate for a small Christian college.  Normal faculty duties include twelve hours of undergraduate teaching per semester as well as departmental and professional responsibilities listed above.

Required: Earned doctorate degree in Sport Management or closely related field.  ABD will be considered for non-tenure track instructor position.

All interested candidates are invited to submit a cover letter, current vita, and a statement of educational philosophy.  Additionally, as a Christian liberal arts institution, Bethel College desires that its faculty possess a vibrant Christian faith and an understanding of how that faith integrates with their discipline.  Therefore, candidates are also asked to submit a brief statement of faith and statement on the integration of faith and learning.  Priority consideration will be given to candidates whose applications are completed by June 1, 2018.
